Welcome to ROOTS Youth Development Program, also known as ROOTS Farm & Forest School (“ROOTS,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms and Conditions govern your use of our website and participation in our programs. By registering for any ROOTS service, event, or activity, you agree to comply with the following terms. If you do not agree, please discontinue use.

1. PARTICIPATION & SUPERVISION
ROOTS programs take place in a natural, outdoor environment with homestead-based activities. Participation involves exposure to weather, farm animals, tools, and uneven terrain.

• Parents/guardians are responsible for providing accurate health and contact information at registration.
• Children must be supervised by a parent/guardian unless attending a designated drop-off program.
• Families agree to adhere to the program expectations and safety guidelines outlined in our Student Handbook.

2. BEHAVIOR & DISMISSAL
All participants — children, parents, and guardians — are expected to engage respectfully and safely with others, animals, and the environment.

• ROOTS reserves the right to remove a participant from any program due to unsafe, aggressive, or disruptive behavior.
• No refunds or credits will be issued in cases of dismissal based on behavior.

3. PAYMENTS, REFUNDS & CANCELLATIONS

• Registration and tuition fees are subject to the policies outlined in our Student Handbook.
• In general, fees are non-refundable. Cancellations must follow the timelines and terms provided upon enrollment.
• ROOTS operates rain or shine. In rare cases of severe weather or emergencies, schedule adjustments may be made.

4. PHOTO & MEDIA RELEASE
By enrolling in ROOTS programming, you grant permission for ROOTS to photograph or film your child(ren) during activities for use in educational materials, social media, or promotional content. If you wish to opt out, please notify us in writing before participation.

5. WAIVER OF LIABILITY
By participating in ROOTS programs, you acknowledge the inherent risks of outdoor and homestead activities, including but not limited to exposure to insects, animals, uneven terrain, and tools.

You agree to release ROOTS Youth Development Program, its staff, volunteers, directors, and property owners from liability for any injury, loss, or damage incurred during participation, except in the case of gross negligence. Participation is voluntary and undertaken at your own risk.

6. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
All ROOTS materials, including curriculum, images, logos, lesson plans, and written content, are the property of ROOTS Community Initiative. Use of these materials is restricted to enrolled participants for personal, educational purposes only. Reproduction or distribution without written permission is prohibited.

7. WEBSITE USE
You agree to use this website for lawful purposes only. You may not:

• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the site or data
• Reproduce or copy any content without permission
• Use the site to distribute harmful software or materials

ROOTS reserves the right to update or modify the website at any time without notice.

8. SMS MESSAGING TERMS
By opting into ROOTS text message updates, you agree to receive occasional automated messages related to programs, weather alerts, and announcements. Message frequency may vary. Standard text and data rates may apply.

9. STUDENT HANDBOOK REFERENCE
For detailed policies on payment deadlines, dress code, illness guidelines, late pickups, cancellation terms, and medical/emergency procedures, please refer to the ROOTS Student Handbook. By enrolling, you agree to abide by the policies outlined in the handbook and these Terms.

10. MODIFICATIONS
ROOTS reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will be posted to this page. Continued participation or use of our website after changes are made constitutes your acceptance of the new terms.
