Looking for the best outdoor summer camp for kids? At ROOTS Summer Camp, children don’t just play outside—they explore, create, and grow through hands-on, nature-based learning. Designed for ages 5-12, our unique program blends adventure, environmental education, and essential life skills, making it one of the top choices for nature camps, outdoor education camps, and eco-friendly summer programs.
Each week, campers embark on themed explorations—from honoring Indigenous traditions to understanding Earth’s natural cycles—engaging in activities that deepen their connection to the world around them. With a focus on child-led learning, we support each camper’s individual needs, ensuring they feel confident, curious, and connected in our nurturing environment.
Our small-group outdoor camp is designed to foster a sense of community and belonging, with a mix of hands-on projects, creative play, and space for quiet reflection. Campers will spend their days outdoors, with access to indoor spaces as needed. While we encourage full six-week enrollment, families can also register by the week to fit their schedules.

Pokémon Nature Camp
Join us for a one-of-a-kind outdoor adventure where children will explore nature through the world of Pokémon! Campers will complete challenges, participate in mini tournaments, work together on team missions, enjoy hands-on outdoor activities, and discover how the skills of observation, exploration, teamwork, and curiosity connect to both the Pokémon world and the natural world around them.
This special camp is being offered at our brand-new Frankford and Clayton campuses and provides families with a unique opportunity to experience ROOTS Farm & Forest School firsthand before the start of the school year.

Our experience at ROOTS has been exceptional! The staff are truly invested in my children’s education and their growth as learners. Small class sizes and a creative out- of-the-box educational experience have enabled my children to thrive in an environment outside of a traditional classroom. While making friends, my children are also learning about nature, survival skills, animals, cooking, farming, independence, and so much more in a multisensory environment where they are encouraged to dig in and get dirty.

My 5 year old daughter has taken yoga classes with Miss Brooke and Miss Talon at ROOTS. The yoga is SO much more than “just” yoga. Through the ROOTS yoga program my daughter has learned so many new tools for emotional regulation. She has learned lessons in helping her community, being true to herself, and spreading kindness wherever she goes. I cannot thank ROOTS enough, especially Miss Talon, for giving my child a safe space to make friends and connect with herself through breath and movement. The things she has learned at ROOTS will make a positive impact in her life for years to come.

My 7, 5, and 3 year old all attended the fall ROOTS session and it was an amazing experience for each one of them. The program adapts to all ages and the instructors are compassionate, knowledgeable, and kind. My three year old was hesitant at first but felt right at home after meeting our instructor Rhonda and all the kids looked forward to their class. They always came home with something special they made in class and many of the activities provided an extension of learning and activities we could do as a family at home. The program exceeded my expectations and allowed my kids to gain confidence with new experiences and learn skills that will benefit their futures.
