The Georgetown location is our original ROOTS site—a vibrant, living classroom nestled on a thriving educational homestead. Here, children don’t just learn about nature—they live it.
Our 2.7-acre homestead is home to lush gardens, rotational grazing animals, and child-designed wild play zones that encourage exploration, resilience, and curiosity. Outdoor classrooms are tucked beneath trees and beside garden beds, creating ever-changing learning spaces shaped by the seasons.
This location offers year-round, nature-based programs for children and families, with rich access to our sensory garden, pollinator patches, mud kitchen, animal care stations, food forest, and our high tunnel greenhouse for hands-on seasonal planting.
From harvesting herbs for tea to caring for chickens or building shelters in the woods, every moment at ROOTS Georgetown is rooted in real work, real connection, and real joy.
Programs at this site reflect the heart of the ROOTS mission: self-sufficiency, environmental literacy, community connection, and experiential education that empowers children to grow confidently, think critically, and contribute meaningfully to the world around them.
