36 Hours Training program by
The Forest School Teacher Institute

We’re thrilled to be putting together ROOTS Nature School, designed with the invaluable feedback from our community to make a lasting impact in 2025-2026! To bring you the very best, we’re diving into multiple training programs – we’ve almost completed the Nature-Based Educator Training through the Association of Nature-Based Education, and Travis and I just earned our Forest School Teacher Institute certification! We’re now working on the 3rd level, Director Training.

What can you expect? Our nature school will offer hands-on, child-led learning rooted in environmental stewardship, social-emotional growth, and practical life skills. Imagine children of all abilities learning side by side in an inclusive, outdoor classroom, with spaces designed to meet every learning style—whether tactile, visual, or auditory. Authentic engagement is at the heart of our program, allowing kids to connect deeply with nature and each other, all while exploring, growing, and learning in ways that honor who they are.

This work is vital, as it allows children to learn holistically, develop a love for the outdoors, and build skills that last a lifetime. Stay tuned for more details!
