We are thrilled to bring the spirit of ROOTS to New Castle County with a Spring Pop-Up Workshop Series designed to engage, educate, and build community! 🌟
🌸 Workshop Series: Baby Chicks!
📅 Dates: April 26 & May 3, 2025
⏰ Time: 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
👧 Ages: 5-12 years old
Join us for this two-part workshop:
Part 1 (4/5):
🥚 Learn about egg incubation and the chicken life cycle
🔦 Experience the magic of candling eggs to see developing chicks inside
Part 2 (4/12):
🐥 Hands-on fun with baby chick handling and care
🍴 Make a homemade treat for our chickens and learn how to keep them happy and healthy
Both workshops will also include time for socializing and play with like-minded families. 🐤🤝
At ROOTS, our goal is to foster community connections and offer unique, hands-on experiences for children. Over the past 4 years, we’ve built an incredible community in Sussex County, and we can’t wait to bring the same magic to New Castle County! 🌎💛

We are thrilled to announce that ROOTS is expanding to New Castle County with a brand-new satellite office in Townsend, DE! To celebrate, we’re hosting an exciting Pop-Up Summer Camp Week on a beautiful family homestead. 🌱✨
📅 Dates: July 28 - August 1, 2024
⏰ Time: 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM
👧 Ages: 5-10 years old
🌾 Theme: Harvest to Home
Campers will dive into hands-on farm activities, including:
🍴 Making homemade recipes
🌿 Harvesting herbs and veggies to create herbal teas and jams
🍃 Foraging for wild edible plants and learning about nature’s safe-to-eat treasures
🪴 Crafting herb bundles for cooking and teas
🎨 Experimenting with herb stamping, creating natural prints on fabric or paper
✨ And so much more!
Each day also features:
🌳 Child-directed exploration
🧘♀️ Mindfulness and yoga sessions
📒 Nature journaling
🐐 Animal care activities
🎨 Creative art projects
🤝 Fun teambuilding games
💡 Guest speakers who inspire and educate
